Originally trained in the Western Classical vocal tradition, Jennifer has developed a style that integrates Western Classical elements with various world music and jazz influences. Jennifer has performed across Canada, in the United States and in Europe.
In addition to JUNO-nominated world music ensemble Maza Mez? and Cabaret Blues trio Pirate Jenny (with Blair Mackay and Bill Parsons), Jennifer has performed with such musicians/ensembles as the Art of Time Ensemble, Victor Bateman, the Evergreen Club Contemporary Gamelan, Justin Haynes,
Laurel MacDonald, Jane Siberry, Kurt Swinghammer and David Wall. Jennifer collaborates frequently with dancers, as a composer and/or performer. She has worked with dance artists Peggy Baker, Susie Burpee, Peter Chin, Yvonne Ng and Heidi Strauss.
Jennifer and bassist/composer Mark Shannon have recently formed New Moon Music, creating music for film, television and live performance. Jennifer has also sung on numerous film soundtracks, as well as television theme music.
Jennifer is currently composing a song cycle with the assistance of the Ontario Arts Council.
She also teaches privately and works as a facilitator at Keys to the Studio, as music school for youth diagnosed with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
